Direct Linking - Don't do it

Direct linking is when you link to an image straight from another site.

Most often, people who run the site frown on this as you're using their bandwidth and they're not getting traffic out of it. You'll also find that a lot of sites block people from being able to do this and you end up with all kinds of weird "banned" images and mysterious little red "x" boxes and such.

Please don't do it. It's just rude.

Board "Style"

The board "style" (background, color scheme, etc.) is something you can change if you don't like the dark background.

Just go to "PROFILE" in the menu at the top of the page, then "Settings" on the profile menu bar.

After all the timezone stuff, you'll see an "Available Styles" drop down menu.

Select a different style (feel free to try 'em out), then

MAKE SURE TO GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN AND CLICK "UPDATE PROFILE" to get the change to take.

How to post an image

1) Go to an image hosting service. See Hosting Service note in this forum.
2) Upload the image to the host.
3) The host should give you a link to the image.
4) Copy it and put it within BBCode Image tags, like so:

 [img]http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/7971/connorgettingtheresmall.jpg[/img]

5) If the computer gods smile on your efforts, you won't see the code when you preview / post, you'll get the image:
